Ange Postecoglou’s future at Celtic has been a topic of hot discussion for some time to say the least. The manager has done a wonderful job since arriving at Parkhead and that seems to have caught the attention of clubs down south. The likes of Leeds United, Everton, Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolves have all been linked with him at one point or another.

Considering the reputation that Postecoglou has build up for himself in his 20 months or so at Celtic, winning three trophies already, it feels like if he was seeking an exit, there would be no lack of opportunities. But the Australian has stayed put at Parkhead till now.

Postecoglou has been heavily linked with a move away on more than one occasion. But it looks like for the time being, his only focus is on making his mark at Celtic and he clearly enjoys being the manager of the Hoops.

As reported by the Daily Record, Postecoglou said:

"“When people say ‘he’s going to go down the road or somewhere else with the first offer he gets’ it’s not how I’m wired, it’s not how I think. For me, what it’s about is just trying to leave a mark wherever I am. I have done that with every football club I have been at. I want to do that at this football club and that is all that consumes me. I don’t think about the next step or I need to go somewhere else or I need to do this or I need to consider other things.”"

Postecoglou makes sensational claim about Celtic future amid exit rumours

The impact that Postecoglou has made at Celtic since joining the club is truly remarkable. It is hard to imagine that many other managers, if any, could have done as good of a job.

The fact of the matter is that nothing lasts forever. And at some point of time, Postecoglou will also head out of the Parkhead exit door. He is in his late 50s and does not have a lot of time, to achieve all his managerial goals.

Most fans will understand that, even if they hope that he remains in the Celtic managerial hot seat for as long as possible. Postecoglou’s comments are reassuring though and it feels like he is no hurry to leave the club. Long may the Australian’s run at Parkhead continue.
