Celtic are ready to take on the Rangers in the final of the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park. The game is just a couple of days away and it is safe to say that it is a highly anticipated contest between the two best teams in Scotland, by quite some distance. And we have heard a lot of talk coming out of the Ibrox camp recently.

Fashion Sakala of the Rangers has raised quite a few eyebrows with his recent comments, ahead of the League Cup final. The player went on to declare the Ibrox side as the ‘better’ team recently.

Of course, one would have expected a Celtic player to come out and give a big reply to such claims. But that has not happened. Instead, Cameron Carter-Vickers has decided to brush the comments aside and seems to be fully concentrated on the task at hand instead.

As reported by the Daily Record, asked about Sakala and what he has said ahead of the final, Carter-Vickers said:

"“For me, I’ve got no problem with it. Every professional sportsman has to have some level of self belief to get to where they are. For me, it’s a normal comment for a professional sportsman to make.”"

Some Celtic fans will be left disappointed not to hear a big reply from one of the Hoops’ stars, to Sakala’s claims. But at the same time, this can be viewed as a positive as well.

It looks like Carter-Vickers and company are fully concentrated on what they have to do on Sunday, and are not taking in any of the noise coming from the outside. That is exactly what you would want from your team ahead of a big match.

There is no reason to try and point score in the media ahead of the final. Everything will be settled on the Hampden Park pitch at the weekend. And hopefully, the Bhoys will do their talking with the ball at their feet.
