Within the space of 20 months or so, Ange Postecoglou has gone from someone that most Celtic fans were disappointed to see become the club’s manager to one of the most beloved figures in recent memory. The success on the pitch has certainly helped in that journey. But so has the man behind it all.

Postecoglou has a way with words. Whether it be his words in the dressing room to the players. Or to the fans in post-match interviews.

It feels like he knows absolutely what it means to be a Celtic supporter. And he understands the responsibility that he carries, being the manager of the club.

Postecoglou will look to guide Celtic to a second straight Scottish League Cup title this weekend, when they take to the Hampden Park pitch to take on the Rangers. And the manager had a beautiful message for the club’s supporters, heading into the big game.

Postecoglou sends beautiful message to Celtic fans before League Cup final vs Rangers

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Postecoglou said while speaking in an interview clip posted by Viaplay Sports:

"“As much as I’m the manager of this football club, and I’m really passionate about it, I’m not invested in the same way our supporters are.“I can’t be because they’ve got generations. It would be insulting of me to say that it means the same to me as them.“But I bear the burden of that responsibility. I know what it means to our people that in these big games we are successful.”"

Postecoglou further continued regarding the matter:

"“Whilst my passion for this football club can’t match the passion and the investment of our supporters, I’ve been very invested in this sport.“It’s been my one obsession my whole life. I’ve loved it. It’s given me everything good that’s in my life, from relationships to the life I’ve led.”"

It goes without saying that a lot will be riding on the result of the Scottish League Cup final. It is not just the silverware that matters, but every Glasgow Derby is a must-win fixture in itself.

Also, with Michael Beale’s side doing well in recent times, getting a win over them in a match of this magnitude will be huge boost for Celtic, heading into the business end of the season. A treble would also be on the cards, if the Hoops can bring home the Scottish League Cup.

No matter what happens on Sunday, this Celtic side deserve a lot of credit for the job that they have done this season. Every fan can be proud of this team.
