Celtic have had a great time in recent years when it comes to the transfer market. The Hoops have made several signings, a number of whom have gone on to be regulars in the starting XI. On the other hand, they have seen the likes of Giorgos Giakoumakis, Josip Juranovic, Tom Rogic, Nir Bitton and several others leave as well. And now, it looks like one of their former stars could hand the club a cash boost.

Kieran Tierney broke the Scottish transfer record when he made a £25 million move to Arsenal in the summer of 2019. Since then, the left-back has had an interesting time with the London club.

There have been times when he was considered one of their best players, a future Arsenal captain and linked with a move to clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid. Back then, he was rated at a transfer fee over £50 million.

Things have changed since then though and right now, he finds himself out of Arsenal’s starting XI. And as reported by The Sun, Tierney is considering his future at Arsenal after becoming increasingly frustrated by his lack of action and Newcastle United are ready to throw him a £30  million lifeline in the summer.

£30 million transfer bid rumour will interest Celtic fans

The rumours of Newcastle United considering a £30 million transfer bid for Tierney will interest Celtic fans in more ways than one. Firstly, the Scottish international remains a popular figure among the majority of the support, despite having left several years back.

And on the other hand, the club are believed to have a sell-on clause in his deal. Thus, him leaving Arsenal for a big transfer fee would hand Celtic a cash boost in the summer as well.

It remains to be seen if Tierney does end up making a move away from Arsenal or not. With his lack of playing minutes in recent times, it does feel inevitable.
