Celtic managed to win by a comfortable 4-0 scoreline at the weekend against Aberdeen. And while the Dons might have come into the match with Barry Robson in interim charge of the team, it does feel like the club are continuing their search for a more permanent solution for their managerial vacancy after Jim Goodwin was shown the exit door.

The likes of Neil Lennon and Paul Lambert have already been linked with the Aberdeen job. But the club are continuing with Robson for the time being.

While Aberdeen have been linked with a long list of names, not many would have expected Gordon Strachan to be linked with the job. But that is exactly what has happened.

As reported Press and Journal, Strachan is the new favourite with the bookmakers to become the next manager of Aberdeen.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Aberdeen, but it would certainly be very interesting if they went with someone like Strachan.

Of course, Strachan achieved a lot at Aberdeen during his playing career. And he has plenty of experience as a manager as well. Celtic will know about that well.

At the same time though, it has been quite a while since he has managed a team. His last role was with Scotland back in 2017. Thus, that is quite the gap for sure and it will be very interesting to see if he makes a come back to guide the ship at his former club.

It is also worth pointing out that Scottish football clubs have been in the middle of a bit of a managerial merry-go-round in recent years with very few managing to hold on for a considerable period of time. Of course, Ange Postecoglou is as safe as can be at Celtic.
