Ange Postecoglou is as safe as can be in the Celtic hot seat and the biggest worry that the Hoops have right now is making sure that he remains there for the foreseeable future, with a new Premier League club being linked with him almost every month. There has been a bit of a managerial merry-go-round in Scottish football as a whole though. A number of clubs have changed managers in recent times, as they struggle for form.

One of the clubs who seem to be in a bit of trouble this season are Motherwell, who sit near the bottom of the Premiership table. They are level on points with Dundee United at the moment, and are 11th.

They are looking for a new manager as well, with the hot seat vacant right now. Steven Hammell was shown the exit door recently. And it looks like a former Celtic player is in the running to get the job.

As reported by BBC, James McPake and John Hughes are under consideration for Motherwell’s vacant managerial post.

Hughes has plenty of experience in the Scottish game. His biggest job was without doubt the one with Hibernian. But he has won silverware in the past as well.

He finds himself without a job at this point of time though. But he could very well make a return to the Premiership with Motherwell. It remains to be seen if he ends up getting it or not.

He has never made a secret of his desire to return to management. And certainly has the experience to try and help Motherwell avoid relegation from the top flight. The former Celtic player even won the Scottish Cup while Inverness Caledonian Thistle, back in the 2014/15 season. Let’s see what the future holds.
