Celtic have found a lot of success under the management of Ange Postecoglou. That has seen their players catch the eye of clubs from abroad as well. We have already seen Josip Juranovic join Union Berlin and Giorgos Giakoumakis make a move to Atlanta United. And more key players could be on their way out in the future.

There have been some players who have been instrumental to Celtic’s success from the very beginning of Postecoglou’s time as the manager of the club. Carl Starfelt certainly falls under that category.

The Swedish international was brought in from Rubin Kazan in the summer of 2021. Since then, he has been a nailed on starter for the Hoops. Earlier this season, he dealt with a few injury problems. Now he is back to full fitness though and playing 90 minutes on a regular basis.

That seems to have caught the eye of clubs down south as well though. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Starfelt is one to watch in the summer as Premier League clubs are following him as a possible option for the next window. Celtic will try to keep him as he’s considered an important player.

There is no doubt that Starfelt is a vital part of this Celtic team. He has formed a brilliant duo in the heart of defence with Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Most fans would recognise Carter-Vickers as the more important of the two. But seeing Starfelt go would be a major blow for Celtic as well.

It remains to be seen what the future holds. It is worth pointing out though that Celtic signed a centre-back in January in the form of Yuki Kobayashi, who has done a great job since coming in. On the other hand, Tomoki Iwata is capable of playing in the heart of defence as well. The best case scenario would be Starfelt staying at Parkhead. But if he does leave, the club do have options.
