Celtic made four signings in the recent January transfer window and if they are able to adjust to the Scottish game, all of them could end up becoming regular contributors to Ange Postecoglou’s team. Alistair Johnston has already established himself as the starting right-back following Josip Juranovic’s exit. And now, it looks like Oh Hyeon-gyu will need to step up to the plate as well, after Kyogo Furuhashi got injured in the recent game against St Mirren.

Oh got his first goal in a Celtic shirt in that match, showing his instincts in the box. And if Kyogo takes any significant length of time to recover, the Hoops might be looking towards the South Korean striker to deliver in front of goal.

One has to wonder though if Oh is up to full speed yet. Before arriving at Celtic, he had not played a competitive game of football for a few months.

This is also his first taste of European football. But it looks like Son Heung-min is keeping an eye out for Oh. Not only has the Tottenham Hotspur hero contacted his South Korean international teammate, but he has also talked to Joe Hart about helping him.

Celtic new signing handed major boost by Son following Parkhead arrival

As reported by Glasgow Live, Oh said:

"“Joe Hart was a team-mate of Son at Spurs and he’s told me that they’d spoken on the phone and Son told him to look after me! He’s been great, he’s been helping me settle in.“I have spoken to a few of the Korean players who are playing in the UK, guys like Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan at Wolves. They haven’t given me advice as such, but they have told me what the game is like over here and what to expect.“They contacted me first and asked me how my life was. I am grateful that Heung-min and Hee-chan hyung got in touch and it gave me great strength.”"

It does look like Hart is helping Oh settle in at Parkhead. Many would have noticed how the English goalkeeper helped out the striker while celebrating with the supporters following the 5-1 win over St Mirren.

Amidst all this, it is also important to remember though that Oh is just 21 years of age and is playing his first season of football in Europe. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 4 appearances and played 61 minutes for Celtic till now. Thus, it is important to have patience with him, even if he does not start delivering the goals from the get go.
