Celtic have done a very good job when it comes to identifying and signing good players over the past couple of seasons. That has meant that in a very short period of time, the club have been successful in not only rebuilding their squad but also re-establishing themselves as the best team in Scotland, after the terrible 2020/21 campaign, which had seen them finish trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers in the league.
Celtic must continue adding to their squad though, especially as it looks like clubs abroad are taking an interest in their players. We have already seen key stars like Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis leave.
The likes of Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada have all been linked with clubs down south recently as well. It remains to be seen how much substance there is to those rumours, but it is very possible that the Hoops might need to make an addition or two going forward in the summer.
One player who could be the perfect fit for that role is Reiss Nelson of Arsenal. His current deal with the Premier League giants runs out in the summer.
Celtic should sign £6 million-rated Arsenal player for free
Nelson has been very highly rated for a long time and has had promising loan spells away at clubs like Hoffenheim and Feyenoord. But he has not managed to establish himself at Arsenal.
His numbers are not bad though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Nelson has scored 2 goals and provided an assist in 2 Premier League appearances this season, in 63 minutes of football.
If Nelson does end up leaving Arsenal in the summer, then a club like Celtic might be the perfect place for him to rebuild his career. He was one of the highest rated talents in England while coming through the youth ranks. On the other hand, since he would be available on a free transfer, it would not be a big risk for the Hoops.
