Celtic have a very important Premiership game next weekend against Aberdeen. With just 13 games left in the league, every match is vital at this point of time. But some of the players cannot be blamed if they have half an eye on the upcoming Scottish League Cup final, set to be played on February 26, against Michael Beale’s Rangers.

Celtic were handed a bit of a worry in that regard, in their recent Scottish Cup win over St Mirren. Kyogo was substituted off in the first 15 minutes of the game with a shoulder injury. The good news is that Ange Postecoglou did not sound too concerned about the matter after the match. The last time the Japanese star had picked up a similar issue, he had recovered pretty quickly.

On the other hand, it looks like one injured Rangers player will be available for the League Cup final. It is none other than John Lundstram.

As tweeted out by Rangers, while speaking to the media before their Scottish Cup game this weekend, Beale said about Lundstram’s situation:

"“Lundstram won’t be available this weekend and should hopefully be back for the Livingston game. He took a sore one on his ankle. He will definitely be back for the final at the end of the month.”"

Of course, Celtic should have eyes only on things going on at Parkhead at this point of time. And they must prepare for the best version of the Rangers.

Celtic have pretty much dominated the Glasgow Derby over the past year or so. One has to admit though that the Rangers have improved when it comes to results, since the arrival of Beale as manager.

When the two sides met the last time, at Ibrox, it turned out to be a 2-2 draw. So, Postecoglou’s team cannot afford to take them lightly, when they face off against each other at Hampden Park, with the League Cup up for grabs. Let’s see how things turn out.
