There is always the risk when a Celtic player reaches top form that clubs from the Premier League would become interested in signing them up in the next transfer window. That has happened several times in the past and is not expected to stop anytime soon, as the financial gulf between Scottish and English teams continues to widen.

Certainly Kyogo Furuhashi has been back on top form of late. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 19 goals in 23 Premiership appearances this season. That sees him leading the scoring charts in Scotland. He has also netted 3 goals in 4 cup games.

Had it not been for an injury early in the match on Saturday against St Mirren, Kyogo would have been in with a great chance of adding to that tally. Celtic fans will be worried about that shoulder issue possibly ruling him out of the upcoming Scottish League Cup final against the Rangers at the end of February.

Fortunately Ange Postecoglou didn’t sound too concerned about his star player after the match and was hopeful he’d recover quickly. He had done so the last time he had picked up a similar shoulder injury.

But perhaps Celtic fans should be more worried about losing Kyogo in the longer term. It looks like he is drawing interest from down south.

As reported by Football Insider, Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on Kyogo. The Eagles are in for multiple forward signings in the summer as they brace for the exit of star man Wilfried Zaha.

Crystal Palace have already signed one of Celtic’s star forwards in the past, having shelled out a transfer fee believed to be around £16 million to sign Odsonne Edouard back in the summer of 2021. Could they come back for Kyogo in the future?
