There is nothing like a packed Celtic Park on a Champions League night. The atmosphere is electric and very, very special. That is something which is known and recognised worldwide. If you have been there you will know exactly what it feels like. If you have watched those fantastic European nights on TV, you will have a very good idea of what it’s like to be in the Parkhead crowd.

Last season there was some competition from the Rangers with exciting nights at Ibrox as they made their way towards losing a Europa League final in May, at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt.

But even one of their favourites did not rank Ibrox at the top when it came to his experience of football nights.

The Ibrox side had football commentator Clive Tyldesley on board for the RangersTV programmes during their run to the league title under the management of Steven Gerrard. But when talking on Stand Out Sport, and as reported by Glasgow Live, he said:

"“I think Anfield and Celtic Park are both very very special on a major European night. Somehow the connection between the football club and the fans transcends that virtually anywhere else I’ve known.”"

Tyldesley clearly loves the noise of the crowd, the terrific atmosphere and gave a special mention for the renditions of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ at both Celtic Park and Anfield.

Tyldesley is a popular commentator and had built up a long working and friendly relationship with Ibrox legend, Ally McCoist, alongside him. The pair worked closely on early rounds of the 2022 World Cup.

It goes without saying that the Rangers fans were not particularly happy with the comments. In the meantime Celtic supporters will be looking forward to more Champions League nights next season as their team powers on towards the Premiership title, which will secure those exciting and high profile group stage games again.

As things stand, they are nine points ahead of the Rangers in the Premiership table, with 13 more league games left to be played in the ongoing season.
