Celtic might have surprised a lot of people last season by winning the Premiership and Scottish League Cup double, but this time around a lot of expectations were placed on their shoulders to maintain those levels. They have managed to deliver on them till now as well, and there is a possibility that they could surpass the previous campaign. Ange Postecoglou’s side are still in the running to win three domestic titles.

One player who had a major role in last season’s double is Tom Rogic. The Australian would make a shock decision though, leaving the club at the end of the campaign.

For years, Rogic had been on the periphery of the team but stuck around. But when he found his way back into the starting XI, he decided to make the move down south and join West Bromwich Albion.

Of course, at 30 years of age, it makes sense why he would like to try something different. Unfortunately for Rogic though, things are not going so well at West Bromwich Albion, and he was not even included in the squad in their recent game against Coventry City.

As reported by the Daily Record, West Brom manager Carlos Corberan said about the situation of Rogic:

"“It’s complicated sometimes to give you the answer. I know how good a player Rogic is and how hard it is to leave a player out who could be in the first XI – not just someone who could be on the bench. We can play with a specific number 10, and then a specific 10 on the bench.“Or, you play with a number 10 and a player who has a different profile, and you don’t take two seats on the bench with two players who give you the same. It depends more on this than the player. I can only tell you that to leave Rogic out of the squad is totally unfair on him. Sometimes to leave out another player is unfair for him too.”"

The fact of the matter is that Rogic has not featured much for West Bromwich Albion since making the move to the club after leaving Celtic. In fact, he has only made just four starts in the Championship this season till now.

That is not what he would have expected when he quit Celtic and it does feel like he would have had a much bigger role at Parkhead. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Rogic has made 16 appearances and played 643 minutes of football for West Bromwich Albion, scoring twice and assisting three times.
