Celtic have a stacked squad at this point of time. That means that there is a lot of competition for every position on the pitch. On one hand, that is a great thing and makes sure that the performances remain up at all times. On the other hand though, it also means that there are some players who do not get enough chances to prove themselves and show what they are capable of.
Celtic might have been enjoying a lot of success lately. But one complaint that some fans have had in recent years is that the club’s youth stars are not able to break into the senior team.
One would hope that that changes soon enough. One such youth player is on the move though, having not made a single appearance at the senior level for Celtic till now.
As reported by The Courier, Dunfermline have signed Celtic’s Ewan Otoo on loan until the end of the season. They are pushing for the League One title.
Celtic defender quietly completes move to Scottish club until the end of the season
It is safe to say that leaving might have been the best step for Otoo at this point of time. He is 20 years of age but has not made his debut for Celtic yet.
He has been very highly rated while coming through the ranks though. In fact, the defender has even captained the Celtic B team.
It remains to be seen how he does on his loan at Dunfermline. They look like the favourites to win promotion to the Championship and hopefully, Otoo will be able to make his mark there and show what he is capable of.
Otoo can play both as a centre-back and as a left-back. Thus, his versatility could be an asset for the Hoops. Let’s see how he does out on loan.
