Celtic have been brilliant when it comes to identifying talent in recent times. That has been one of the club’s biggest strengths during the run of Ange Postecoglou as manager. There are other top clubs who seem to have their eyes on a number of their targets as well though, and one of them appears to be Newcastle United.
Of course, Newcastle United have proven to be a bit of an unexpected success story in the Premier League this season. The Magpies were always expected to rise up through the ranks, but nobody could have seen them making a challenge for the top four so quickly.
Celtic fans will not be too fond of Eddie Howe, especially after how the saga involving the manager and the Hoops turned out in the summer of 2021. But one has to give him credit for the job that he has done since joining Newcastle United.
As reported by NUFC Blog, Newcastle United are ‘very interested’ in Sean Moore, who is also attracting interest from Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United and Celtic. The Magpies are preparing to launch a transfer bid this summer after Cliftonville resisted a host of January offers.
Newcastle United are readying bid for Celtic target next summer
Moore is a 17-year-old, who has made quite an impression at Cliftonville already and managed to nail down his spot as a starter.
That has raised the interest of several top clubs across Europe, and it looks like Newcastle United are looking to win the race to sign Moore, ahead of the likes of Celtic, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United.
Just 17 years of age, it goes without saying that Moore could be a great long-term addition for the Hoops, if his development goes as expected but it is clear that the race to sign him is going to be tough.
