Celtic boss tipped for another Premier League club after Leeds United

It would not be a stretch to say that Ange Postecoglou is one of the most in-demand managers in world football right now. The Celtic boss had already been linked with the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton and Wolves, when the managerial hot seat had been vacant at those clubs earlier on in the season. And recent rumours have linked him with Leeds United.

For the past couple of days, a lot has been made of the rumours linking Postecoglou to Leeds United, but a move does feel unlikely at this point of time.

Postecoglou has the chance to compete for titles and Champions League football at Celtic. On the other hand, Leeds United find themselves in a relegation struggle for the second straight season. Also, with the relationship that the Australian has with the fans, it does not feel that he would want to depart in the middle of the season. Of course, anything can happen in football but that just feels unlikely.

Charlie Nicholas has speculated though, whether Postecoglou could be an option for Liverpool, if Jurgen Klopp exited Anfield. He wrote in his column in the Scottish Daily Express:

"Jurgen Klopp would have a major impact on Celtic.I am not a Liverpool fan by any stretch of the imagination but I would be concerned about the possible impact managerial change at Anfield could have on Ange Postecoglou.Would the Reds hierarchy come calling with Klopp sitting on the perimeter of things? Liverpool aren’t having a great season and by their usual standards it has been a real struggle. I know the Liverpool fans don’t want Klopp out but what happens if he turns around and says enough is enough? Could Ange for Liverpool become reality? Ange will have ambitions as well. Yes, he is at a top club but would a big club in a big league have even more pull?"

There seems to be very little chance that Liverpool would come calling for Postecoglou, even if Klopp ended up departing the club anytime in the near future.

It just does not come down to ability, as Postecoglou has shown that he can manage at the very top level. But the Liverpool fans would be expecting a glamourous name, in case Klopp ended up leaving. It does not feel like the Celtic boss would fall into that category.

In the scenario that Liverpool do come calling for Postecoglou, there might be a decent chance of him leaving. Not only are they one of the biggest clubs in the world, but the manager also grew up as a fan of the Reds.
