Celtic have been very busy in recent times. Of course, the schedule has been absolutely packed after the World Cup break and the team deserve a lot of credit for not letting the results slip. They sit nine points ahead of the Rangers in the Premiership title race and have booked their place in the Scottish League Cup final as well, where they will be taking on Michael Beale’s side.

The Hoops have been pretty busy when it comes to incomings and outgoings as well though. They continued their relentless pursuit to improve the squad by bringing in Yuki Kobayashi, Tomoki Iwata, Alistair Johnston and Oh Hyeon-gyu.

On the other hand, they have seen the likes of Josip Juranovic, Scott Robertson, Moritz Jenz and Oliver Abildgaard depart. And now, Yosuke Ideguchi has joined them, at least on a temporary basis.

Rumours had broken out late last night that the Japanese midfielder was closing in on a return to the J League. And now, as tweeted out by Celtic, Ideguchi has joined J League side Avispa Fukuoka on a year-long loan.

Ideguchi leaving on a loan deal might be the best step for all parties involved, as it was clear that things were not working out for him at Celtic.

Ideguchi had not played a single minute of football for Celtic this season, and has never really managed to establish himself since arriving in January of 2022. Of course, it must be pointed out that he has been pretty unlucky as well, and had to deal with a few medium to long-term injuries during his time in Scotland.

Ideguchi does have a lot of experience in the J League though and one would hope that he could do a job for Avispa Fukuoka while on loan there.
