The January window might have come and gone but it looks like Celtic’s transfer business might not be done just yet. The Hoops had an eventful month for sure, bringing in Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata and Oh Hyeon-gyu. On the other hand, they have seen the likes of Josip Juranovic, Scott Robertson, Oliver Abildgaard and Moritz Jenz depart.

Giorgos Giakoumakis is believed to be closing in on a move away from Parkhead as well, and it looks like Yosuke Ideguchi will be joining him on the way out of the exit door.

Ideguchi was signed by Celtic from Gamba Osaka in the January transfer window of last year and it is safe to say that he has not managed to find a role for himself in Ange Postecoglou’s team. The Japanese midfielder has not played a single minute of football this season and it might be best for all parties to part ways.

As reported by Sponichi (via The Scotsman), Avispa Fukuoka are leading the race for Ideguchi’s signature on loan before the start of the J1 League season. Gamba Osaka and Nagoya Grampus are believed to have shown an interest in the midfielder as well.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Ideguchi, but it appears that he will be heading out on loan for the time being.

While Ideguchi has not done much during his time at Parkhead, he does have a lot of experience in the J League, and has proven himself there.

Thus, it is not hard to understand why J League clubs are still interested in signing him ahead of the new J League season. Now, it remains to be seen if one of them is able to get a deal done.
