Celtic find themselves in a terrific position right now. This is quite a young side that they have got at this point of time, that they should be able to keep together for the foreseeable future. At the same time though, they look like the dominant team in Scotland as well, leading the Premiership by nine points with 13 more games to go and are in the Scottish League Cup final as well, where they will take on the Rangers.

One criticism that Celtic have had to face in recent years though is that they have not done a great job when it comes to bringing through their own youth stars and turning them into first-team regulars.

The only regular starter in the current Celtic squad, who came through the club’s youth ranks is Callum McGregor. And his big break had come back in 2014.

The club have several highly rated youngsters in the developmental ranks now though, who could potentially go on to be stars at the senior level in the future. And they have managed to agree a contract extension with one such player.

Celtic announce contract extension for midfielder until 2025

As reported by Celtic’s official website, the club have agreed a contract extension with Bruno Davidson. The young midfielder has committed his future to the club until summer 2025.

Davidson can play in several positions across the middle of the park and has impressed immensely at the Celtic B team level in recent times. Thus, him agreeing a contract extension is great news for the Hoops.

One of the major problems that they have faced in recent years is that several of their best youngsters have left for other teams before ever making their debut for Celtic.

Hopefully, that won’t be the case with Davidson and he will be given a chance to shine at the senior level. He is yet to make his debut though.
