Rangers cut the gap at the top of the Premiership table to six points, with their 2-1 win over Ross County. Although, it must be pointed out that Celtic do have a game in hand and it will away at St Johnstone. It is not the easiest place to travel to and get a result, so Ange Postecoglou’s side need to take their A-game to the match.

It must be said that the Rangers’ results have improved a lot since the appointment of Beale as manager during the World Cup break, after showing Giovanni van Bronckhorst the exit door. Celtic have matched them step for step till now though and have been in terrific form themselves.

Some of Beale’s recent comments have raised eyebrows though and caused some controversy, as he labelled Postecoglou as a ‘lucky man’ and talked about the signings that Celtic have made during his time as manager.

It is safe to say that a lot of Celtic fans have not taken those comments well, as you expect. And Chris Sutton had some words for the Rangers manager.

As reported by the Daily Record, speaking on the BT Sport Score on Saturday afternoon, Sutton said:

"“They’re trying to have a pop at Celtic because they have the biggest budget, but Celtic are the biggest club in Scotland with the biggest fan base. I just think with Michael Beale, he’ll eat himself really.”"

Sutton went on to further add about the matter:

"“He should keep his head down as Martin O’Neill did when he first went north of the border. First season, always Rangers were the benchmark. Michael Beale has to back it up. I was surprised at his comments, especially after the way he left QPR under a huge cloud.”"

It remains to be seen how things turn out for Beale in the long run at Ibrox. Yes, he has had some positive results since arriving at Ibrox, but so did Van Bronckhorst.

Last season, Van Bronckhorst guided the Rangers to the final of the UEFA Europa League and also won them the Scottish Cup. That just goes on to show how quickly things can change in football and just because Beale has had a good start does not mean he is nailed on to be a managerial success.
