Celtic will look to continue their march towards the Premiership title, as we enter the business end of the season. Of course, their next task is getting the better of St Johnstone, away at McDiarmid Park. That is easier said than done, as it is not the easiest of grounds to go and get a result at, with the pitch playing a big part in that.
Celtic have had their problems away at St Johnstone in the past and surely must be looking to avoid them when they go visiting again.
It could be a much tighter game than most fans are anticipating and might be one of the toughest contests remaining in Celtic’s league schedule. And it appears that Callum Davidson is aware of the problems that the pitch could end up posing for the Hoops on their visit and might be looking to use that to their advantage.
As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the St Johnston manager said on Saints TV:
"“It’s not the easiest of pitches to play on. We need to make sure we are ready for that, ready for any mistakes that can happen. Can we counter on that? Can we cause Celtic problems too?“I don’t think it is a game we can sit in for 90 minutes, they have too much quality in the final third and they will hurt us. It is getting the right balance between when to go and when to sit in.”"
St Johnstone manager makes big claim ahead of Celtic game
It goes without saying that Celtic have a lot of quality at their disposal, which they have showed time after time, throughout the course of the ongoing season.
A number of players have stepped up to the plate, even when the team has not played well collectively in cagey matches.
And there is definitely the prospect that the upcoming match could pose a similar problem to solve for the Celtic players. It remains to be seen how they respond to the job at hand away at McDiarmid Park.
One thing that Celtic fans can be sure about though is the fact that this side will give their best in the game. Till now this season, they have only lost once and drawn once, winning the other 22 games that they have played.
