Celtic have made a number of additions to their squad over the last month or so. There have been four new arrivals in the form of Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata and Oh Hyeon-gyu. All four seem to be smart signings and could end up having big roles to play in the team, if they are able to adjust to the Scottish game.

Particularly interesting might be the addition of Oh. For a long time, it had looked like Celtic were after the signature of Cho Gue-sung. But the South Korean World Cup sensation decided to remain at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and the Hoops went after the Suwon Samsung Bluewings striker instead.

Oh might not have played any first-team football for a while, but he has come straight into the fold in Ange Postecoglou’s side and made a couple of appearances off the bench already.

And it looks like he has been impressing his new teammates as well. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Joe Hart said while talking about Oh on Celtic’s official YouTube channel:

"“He’s young, really enthusiastic, powerful. He’s technically good.“Speaking to the boys, obviously we’re as much fans as anyone else when you talk about a new signing. Sometimes you take your teammate hat off and discuss people. I know the boys have mentioned how sharp he is and how tough he is to keep a hold of.“We don’t get a huge opportunity to train too much at the moment with the game schedule, but I think he’s really going to bring something special to the club. Kyogo has been fantastic but with the number of games and opportunities he’ll get, I think big Oh will get to show his true colours and bring something to the table.”"

It is safe to say that Oh has all the attributes required to be a success for Celtic. It is also worth remembering that he had not played competitive football for a few months before arriving at Parkhead.

Thus, he cannot be expected to be at his peak fitness right now and will take some time to play his way into it. But once he does, he could prove to be a handful for opposition defenders.

Oh is also just 21 years of age, and thus, there is plenty of room and time for him to get better at Celtic.

Let’s see how things turn out for Oh in Scotland, but there is a good chance that his signing could prove to be another transfer masterstroke on the part of Celtic.
