Celtic have been home to a number brilliant players over the years, who have moved on to play in the Premier League. Some find success down south, while others struggle. We do see most take the risk though and make the move to England. One player who falls under that category is Kieran Tierney.

When Tierney left Celtic in the summer of 2019 in order to join Arsenal, he ended up breaking the Scottish transfer record as well. Since then, the left-back has certainly had an interesting journey down south.

He has had his ups and downs at Arsenal for sure. Not too long ago, he was considered as one of their best players and a future captain. But now, he finds himself out of the starting XI for good and questions are being raised about whether it is time for him to change clubs.

Joe Ledley has urged Tierney to stay on at Arsenal but he would like to see the left-back back at Parkhead some day as well. As reported by the Daily Record, the Welshman said:

"“Everyone I talk to who is into Arsenal always raves about Tierney and says how good he is and what he has done for the club, but it’s always difficult when the manager brings someone in for your position. It’s hard to get it back, but from the club’s point of view it’s great competition.“Arsenal are doing so well at the moment, so sometimes you’ve just got to bide your time. From a selfish point of view, you need a bit of luck, like an injury to another player so I would say he should fight it out and not think about leaving because he’s learning even more working under Mikel Arteta.“But I would love to see him back at Celtic one day because he has that fantastic bond with the fans. He’s a massive fan himself, so hopefully, he returns in the future.”"

It is safe to say that a lot of fans would love to see Tierney make a return to Celtic Park some day and play for the club again.

But unfortunately, it does not look like that will happen anytime soon. Even if he does end up leaving Arsenal, there is not expected to be a lack of suitors for his signature. It was not too long ago that Tierney was being linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona after all.

There is no doubt that Tierney is a huge Celtic fan though and thus, it would not be a major surprise if he did make a return to Parkhead at some point in the future.
