Celtic are coming off of a positive January transfer window. Overall, the feeling is that they have managed to strengthen their squad once again, even though there have been a few big exits as well. The Hoops have brought in four new players in the form of Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata and Oh Hyeon-gyu.

On the other hand, the likes of Josip Juranovic, Oliver Abildgaard, Moritz Jenz and Scott Robertson are no longer at the club. And even though the January transfer window has shut, there could be more exits to come in the near future.

No conclusion came to the long-running Giorgos Giakoumakis transfer saga. But he is still expected to get his move. And there could potentially be more as well.

Another player who has been linked with a move away recently is Yosuke Ideguchi, who has not played a single minute of football this season, and there have been rumours that a return to Japan could possibly on the cards for him.

Postecoglou appears to confirm Celtic rumour

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou told BBC Sportsound about the Giakoumakis situation:

"“No, it’s still not finalised.“People will be aware that obviously the markets are looking at him under deadline pressure.“I expect a conclusion but nothing is confirmed.”"

The manager further went on to add about the current situation and potential exits:

"“Oliver Abildgaard is gone – obviously he’s moved on and there might be one or two more.”"

So, while the transfer window has slammed shut already, it looks like Celtic could still be active in terms of outgoings.

It must be remembered that transfer windows in other countries, especially outside of Europe, run on different timelines and as a result, they are still eligible to sign players.

That helps in the case of both Giakoumakis and Ideguchi. The striker has been linked with a move to the MLS or the J League.

On the other hand, the Japanese midfielder could be on his way to back to Japan after failing to establish himself at Celtic. His former club, Gamba Osaka, are believed to hold an interest in a return.
