The January transfer window has come and gone, and despite quite a few exits as well, overall it does feel like Celtic were able to improve their squad over the course of the month. The club brought in four new players in the form of Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata and Oh Hyeon-gyu. If they are able to adjust to the Scottish game, then all four of them could have key roles to play in Ange Postecoglou’s side moving forward.

There are a number of other players at Celtic though, who do not have any roles presently and are not expected to feature much at all.

One such player is Conor Hazard. The goalkeeper currently finds himself behind the likes of Joe Hart, Benjamin Siegrist and Scott Bain in the pecking order, and is not expected to get any playing time. But it looks like he rejected the chance to move on loan on deadline day.

As reported by the Daily Record, Hazard turned down the chance to leave Celtic for Ross County on deadline day, as written by Scott Burns. The Staggies had agreed a loan deal with the Hoops but the goalkeeper decided he wanted to remain at Parkhead.

Celtic player rejected chance to move on deadline day even though loan deal was agreed between the clubs

It looks like Hazard could have gotten himself a move to Ross County on deadline day if he wanted.

In fact, it is a bit of a strange decision that he has decided to remain at Celtic Park for the rest of the season.

It would be a bit of a surprise if Hazard featured in even one match between now and the end of the season. And that is despite the fact that he had a great loan spell away at HJK Helsinki before this.
