Celtic have been extremely busy over the course of the past month or so, both in terms of incomings and outgoings. Yet, there could be one final push to be made, before the January transfer window slams shut. While it looks like the Hoops are done when it comes to making signings, it is still possible that a player or more could head out of the Parkhead exit door on deadline day.

There are still many players in the current squad who are not expected to make any sort of an impact in the second half of the campaign but still remain at the club.

The name of Yosuke Ideguchi falls under that category. The Japanese midfielder was signed last January, from Gamba Osaka. But till now, he has not been able to make much of an impact on Ange Postecoglou’s side.

In fact, he has not played a single minute of football till now this season. And as tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are looking at loan options for Ideguchi.

The move for Ideguchi last January had always been a risky one on the part of Celtic. While Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda were coming off of exceptional campaigns, he was not.

Instead, it felt like a move that was made based on Ideguchi’s unfulfilled potential. He had been one of the biggest talents in Japanese football while coming through the ranks. But things went south for him after joining Leeds United some years back. Ultimately, he had had to return to Japan and join Gamba Osaka.

It is safe to say that Ideguchi’s second foray into Europe has not gone much better for him either and it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to find a new club for him on deadline day.
