Celtic have been linked with a long list of players in recent times and have gotten a good number of deals done as well. Moving forward, no further additions are expected at the club over the last few days of the January transfer window. Yet nothing has been ruled out completely either and will depend on the opportunities available.

On the other hand, Giorgos Giakoumakis is expected to complete a Parkhead exit and it looks like after a dramatic U-turn late on, Atlanta United are once again the favourites to sign him as rumours have suggested that the MLS side have had a transfer offer accepted by Celtic.

Of course, Giakoumakis leaving is not good news for Celtic. The club have signed Oh Hyeon-gyu, but this will be the South Korean striker’s first taste of European football. So could the Hoops try to bring in another striker before the January transfer window slams shut?

Celtic had been recently linked with a move for Kevin Nisbet of Hibernian, who has been in stunning form this season, since his return from a long-term injury. It had looked like he was destined to join Millwall though but things have taken an unexpected twist at the last minute.

Celtic-linked player rejects transfer move to England

As reported by the Daily Record, Nisbet has decided against the move to Millwall and a spokesperson for the striker’s representatives, Quanic Sports, said:

"“Kevin has thought long and hard about this move but remains unsure about making it right now. He’d rather focus on Hibs for the time being.”"

It is safe to say that Nisbet has been in top form since returning from his injury. But at the same time, there are question marks over whether he would be the right fit in Ange Postecoglou’s style of football or not.

Celtic making a move for Nisbet late on in the transfer window seems extremely unlikely, especially having signed Oh already. But stranger things have happened in football. One thing we do know is that Hibernian are open to the idea of letting the striker leave.
