Kieran Tierney left Celtic a long time ago. In the summer of 2019, the left-back completed a Scottish record £25 million transfer move to Arsenal. There he has done a decent job as well and not looked out of place at all. Yet, having coming through the club’s academy and grown up as a supporter, the Parkhead connection remains.

It is clear to see that he stays up with what is going on around at Celtic. And it appears that quite a few players have managed to impress the Scottish international.

The most interesting amongst them is of course Greg Taylor. The left-back was brought in in the same summer transfer window in which Tierney left for Arsenal. And while he has taken some time to grow into his role at Parkhead, these days, the 25-year-old is clearly one of the first names on Ange Postecoglou’s team sheet.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Tierney even hailed Taylor as a player of the year contender and further said:

"“Greg’s different from me. He’s got his own strengths. He’s very technical and on the ball he’s among the best there is.“I’m so happy he’s established himself in the team. I love him as a person and we text each other weekly.”"

Taylor has certainly become a nailed on starter for Celtic in recent times. Not too long ago, many considered him as the weak link of the team, but now, he is considered as one of the club’s most consistent performers.

Of course, Postecoglou deserves his fair share of credit as well. It is under his management that Taylor has seemed to undergo a bit of a transformation and gone from being someone who never managed to hold down his place in the starting XI to one of the pillars of the first-team.

Still just 25 years of age, Taylor is not even in his prime yet and as a result, one would expect him to get even better moving forward.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Taylor has made 25 appearances this season, scoring and assisting twice each.

He has been dealing with an injury in recent weeks, but is now believed to be close to fitness, and could get back to featuring once again soon.
