It might have been almost three-and-a-half years since Kieran Tierney left Celtic, but he is still fondly remembered by most of the club’s fans. Of course, his decision to leave in order to join Arsenal did not go down too well back in the summer of 2019, but then, that is just modern football.
Tierney is still at Arsenal but he has certainly seen his importance to the side diminish over the years. Not too long ago, he was considered as a future captain of the club. But now, he finds himself sitting on the bench for the majority of the time.
Arsenal themselves have been on the rise even without him in the starting XI though and are heavy favourites to lift the Premier League this season. Thus, there is a good possibility that the Scottish defender could end up leaving in the not too distant future.
Celtic find themselves in a similar situation in the Premiership as well, and Tierney seems to have been left impressed by the job that Ange Postecoglou has done at Parkhead since arriving in the summer of 2021. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Arsenal player said:
"“Ange Postecoglou’s bought right into the club. That’s why the fans love him. He’s adored.“My friends talk about him; certain clips, certain interviews.“Even when he wears a certain JUMPER people are buying it. You can tell how much he’s loved.”"
Celtic hero makes Postecoglou claim after his success since arriving at Parkhead
It is safe to say that Postecoglou is extremely popular amongst the fans and the support wants him stay at Parkhead for as long as possible even though he is constantly linked with a move down South.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Postecoglou, but nobody can deny the incredible job that he has done at Parkhead till now.
It is easy to forget now, but Postecoglou’s appointment was not the most popular one. He was an unknown in the European game and many thought he could not get the job done at a club the size of Celtic. 18 months on and the picture could not be more different.
