It is almost impossible to find a Celtic fan who does not want to see Ange Postecoglou remain at the club as long as possible. The Australian has done an incredible in turning the Hoops back into the top team in Scotland, after the disastrous 2020/21 campaign. So, when Everton ended up showing Frank Lampard the exit door recently, some supporters surely must have been left worried.
Postecoglou has been linked with a move to Everton in the past as well. And despite their terrible situation right now, the Toffees are admittedly one of the most historic teams in England.
It is not hard to see why Everton might consider making a move for Postecoglou either, considering how he turned around a Celtic side that was struggling. But a move to Merseyside does not seem to be on the cards for the manager.
As tweeted out by Fraser Fletcher, Postecoglou is admired by Everton, and his name on shortlist. However, it is understood that Celtic would not accept an approach at this time, and the chances of the manager leaving the Scottish champions halfway through the season are extremely low.
Postecoglou to Everton update will delight Celtic fans
That will certainly be music to the ears of Celtic fans. They do not want to see Postecoglou leave, especially in the middle of the season.
While Everton are a big and historic club without doubt, they are in a bad position right now and are trying to stay up in the Premier League for the second straight season.
Would Postecoglou leave the chance to win a possible treble at Celtic and risk joining a side like Everton, who could end up getting relegated?
It does not feel very much like the Australian and one should expect to see him remain in the Parkhead hot seat.
