Celtic have done a great job when it comes to getting deals over the line during the time of Ange Postecoglou as manager. The names of transfer misses can be counted out on one hand, and some which come to mind immediately are that of Cho Gue-sung and Riley McGree. Of course, there have been a few others as well, and one of them appears to be closing in on a move to Crystal Palace.
Celtic were heavily linked with a move for St Mirren wonderkid, Dylan Reid, in the summer. But ultimately, a move did not transpire.
The interest in the youngster only seems to have grown since then. And now, as reported by The Scottish Sun, Reid looks poised for the Premier League with a move to Crystal Palace. He is believed to be in talks with the Eagles.
Thus, it looks like any hopes of Celtic going back to sign Reid in the future might be as good as over, if the youngster does end up completing a switch to the London club.
Celtic transfer target appears to be set to join Crystal Palace
Considering the calibre of clubs being linked with Reid, it is safe to say that the youngster has impressed immensely during his time at St Mirren. Now, it will be interesting to see if a move ends up happening this time around or not.
Crystal Palace are not the only rumoured to hold an interest in Reid. In fact, Benfica and Bayern Munich have been linked with a possible move as well.
Thus, let’s see what the future holds for Reid, but it does not seem to go through Celtic Park, as things stand.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Reid has made just 8 appearances for St Mirren till now, and played 306 minutes of football in total.
