Celtic find themselves in a difficult position when it comes to exits. Josip Juranovic has already left in order to join Union Berlin. And it looks like he could soon be followed out of the door by Giorgos Giakoumakis, even though his future destination remains unclear. Both of them were key parts of Ange Postecoglou’s team for sure.

It is just the reality of the situation at Celtic though. Players come in and when they do well, other teams swoop in and sign them. That is just where Scottish football clubs are at.

At the end of the day, it is understandable why players like Juranovic might want to leave. The Croatian is 27 years of age and there was a small window of opportunity left for him to get a big move elsewhere. He was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and others but has ended up at Union Berlin.

While not a traditional big name, Union Berlin are a very good club and currently sit at 3rd in the Bundesliga table. Some of Postecoglou’s comments while discussing Juranovic’s move have worried fans though.

As reported by the Daily Record, Postecoglou said:

"“With all of the lads, I’m constantly in dialogue with them about themselves and their careers and people have to appreciate Josip is 28-years-old but he hasn’t really got to the highest level until late in his career.“He just wants to maximise his opportunities, to be honest. I agree with him. That’s what all of us have in our careers, a limited time and we want to take opportunities.”"

Of course, that description fits Postecoglou pretty well too. The Australian has gotten to the highest level late in his career, and for a long time, it had looked like he might never get there.

He is 57 years of age and there is not a huge window of opportunity left for him to manage in the top five European leagues.

It is pretty clear that Postecoglou enjoys being the Celtic manager a lot and takes the responsibility very seriously. But at the same time, if a truly big club made an offer in the future, nobody could blame him for considering it.
