Celtic have built up quite a bit of squad depth during the time of Ange Postecoglou as the manager of the club. They have continued to strengthen over the past four transfer windows and have reaped the benefits of it on the pitch. That has also meant though that there are a number of players who have struggled for playing time.

The solution for some of them is to go out on loan and show what they are capable of, as Mikey Johnston has at Vitoria SC in Portugal. On the other hand, for others, it might be leaving on a permanent basis.

One player who seems to be inching towards a permanent Parkhead departure is Scott Robertson, who looks set to have a reunion with Scott Brown, currently the manager of Fleetwood Town.

As reported by the Daily Record, Robertson was frustrated at the lack of first-team game time under the management of Postecoglou.

Robertson was very highly rated while coming through the ranks at Celtic and many had hoped that he would go on to become a first-team star at the club one day.

Unfortunately, that did not end up happening for the 21-year-old, even though he did end up showing some promise while out on loan. And now, this might be the right time for him to leave for good.

Ultimately, he just made a single appearance for Celtic at the senior level and it goes without saying that that is not enough for any player in the world to show what he is capable of.

Let’s see if Robertson can impress after leaving Parkhead, as a move to Fleetwood Town seems to be on the verge of completion. And the English League One might be the right place for him to continue his development.
