Giorgos Giakoumakis is expected to leave Celtic this month, with rumours suggesting that the Hoops have already agreed a transfer bid from Urawa Red Diamonds. As a result, it is no secret that the club are in search of another striker. Cho Gue-sung of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors was believed to be their top target but now, it looks like the South Korean striker is set to stay put for the time being.
That means that Celtic have had to turn their attention elsewhere, in an attempt to strengthen up top. One of the players who has been linked with the Hoops amidst all this is Kevin Nisbet.
The Hibernian striker has been in the form of his life since returning from a ten-month absence due to injury. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided an assist in 6 appearances and 483 minutes of football this season. That is magnificent to say the least.
Yet, as reported by the Scottish Daily Express, Celtic have not made contact with either Hibernian or Nisbet’s representatives.

There is no question that Nisbet is a good goalscorer. Before Hibernian, he had promising records at clubs like Raith Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic as well.
Plenty of questions have been raised about how he would fit into Ange Postecoglou’s system of football though. And that is going to be very important for any player that arrives at Parkhead.
On the other hand, Celtic have been linked with several other strikers as well, whether that be Oh Hyeon-gyu of Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Szymon Wlodarczyk of Gornik Zabrze, Thiago Santana of Shimizu S-Pulse, or a few others.
Ultimately, one thing that is very important is that Celtic get another striker in, if Giakoumakis ends up leaving the club this month.
