Several Celtic players have been linked with moves away from Parkhead in the ongoing January window and yet, nothing has transpired till now. Even the rumours that are doing the rounds about possible exits do not seem like ones that have impressed the Hoops fans, especially with regards to transfer fees.

One player who had looked almost certain to leave at the start of the January transfer window is Josip Juranovic. The Croatian right-back has been a regular starter for Celtic since joining from Legia Warsaw and on top of that, he had enjoyed a magnificent World Cup campaign as well, helping his national team to a third place finish.

With clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and several others rumoured to hold an interest in Juranovic, it had looked like it was only a matter of time before he departed. And yet, nothing has transpired till now.

Instead, if rumours were to be believed, Monza were the closest to signing him, on a loan deal till the end of the season that would become permanent for a £7 million fee. Celtic fans were unsurprisingly disappointed, but now, it looks like such a move is off the cards.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, a full agreement has been reached between Marseille and AC Monza for Pol Lirola. It is a loan deal with a buy option clause.

Lirola is a right-back who has played in the past for Juventus as well as Fiorentina, and now finds himself at Marseille.

With Monza signing the Spaniard, it is almost certain that they will not make a move for Juranovic. Thus, if a move to the Italian club was ‘on’ for the Croatian at some point of time, it does not look like a probability any longer.
