Josip Juranovic has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe in recent weeks. Manchester United are just one of them, while the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, AS Roma and others are rumoured to be keeping an eye on the Celtic right-back as well, as his departure in January seems almost inevitable at this point.
Juranovic has been a key player for Celtic since he arrived from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2021. On the other hand, he was one of the standout performers at the recent World Cup as well, as Croatia finished third.
That certainly saw his reputation enhanced, and yet, till now, the strongest rumours have been surrounding a move to Monza. That is not what most people would have expected heading into the January transfer window.
But as reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, the most interesting advances have come from Manchester United. That is the reason why the Croatian international has put on stand-by all the other negotiations. The Red Devils are interested, but they would first like to find a new home for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and have asked Juranovic to wait a few more days.
Manchester United have made request to Juranovic as Celtic exit looks inevitable
If Juranovic went to Manchester United, then that would be good news for Celtic as well, as there would be greater chance of landing a big transfer fee from his exit.
Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Croatian, who certainly proved himself at the World Cup and has earned all the attention that seems to be coming his way.
On the other hand, the performances of Alistair Johnston have eased the fears of Celtic fans when it comes to seeing Juranovic leave in the middle of the season. Signing the Canadian is looking like another transfer masterstroke.
