Josip Juranovic’s future might lie away from Celtic. Signed from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2021, the Croatian has been a nailed on starter for the club since he arrived, playing a key part in their successes under the management of Ange Postecoglou. He had a stunning World Cup campaign as well, as Croatia finished third and the 27-year-old was arguably the best right-back in the tournament.
That has led to him being linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world like Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and many others.
On the other hand, there have also been suggestions that Celtic would look for a big transfer fee in order to part ways with one of their most in-demand players. And while a starter leaving in the middle of the season is never good news, there does seem to be an air of inevitability around the move right now.
As tweeted out Marco Conterio, Monza’s loan offer for Juranovic is ready with an obligation to buy at €7 million.
Bizarre Juranovic rumour emerges amid Celtic exit links
It is safe to say that this rumour does not make sense for either player or the club at this point of time.
On one hand, Juranovic has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe and some great midtable teams as well. On the other hand, Monza are potential relegation contenders in Serie A.
For Celtic, letting Juranovic go on a loan till the end of the season, which will become a permanent move for a transfer fee around €7 million makes very little sense as well and one would think that the club can get a much bigger figure out of the Croatian’s exit in this January window or even next summer. So, do not expect this to materialise.
