Heading into January, one of the major storylines at Celtic has been the future of Josip Juranovic. The Croatian is rumoured to be on his way out of Parkhead this month, following a stunning World Cup campaign, which is believed to have caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in European football.

Juranovic has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and several other top clubs. Thus, there does seem to be a feeling of inevitability surrounding his Parkhead exit.

Of course, a key starter leaving in the middle of the season is never good news for any club. The only positive that Celtic can take from the situation is the fact that Alistair Johnston was superb on his debut for the club against the Rangers at Ibrox and that has raised hopes that the Canadian star is good enough to take Juranovic’s place in the team.

On the other hand, one of the teams that seems to be in the running for Juranovic’s signature is a surprise one in the form of Serie A’s Monza.

Surprise club schedule transfer meeting with Celtic for Juranovic

As reported by Sport Italia (via 67 Hail Hail), Monza are scheduled to hold talks with Celtic regarding Juranovic.

It goes without saying that one would not have predicted Monza to be one of the clubs in the running to sign Juranovic from Celtic.

They currently sit at 15th in the Serie A table and are trying to stay up in the top flight of Italian football.

Considering the clubs that Juranovic has already been linked with, and the fact that he has Champions League football on offer at Celtic already, it would come as a major surprise if we saw him in a Monza jersey anytime soon. But then, never say never in football.
