Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou, had a tough task on his hands on Monday, with the Rangers hosting the Hoops at Ibrox in the latest edition of the Glasgow Derby. In recent times, the Bhoys have got the better of their rivals, but their recent encounter was far from a one-sided affair, with the reigning Scottish champions managing to get a 2-2 draw out of the away fixture.
Celtic had taken the lead through Daizen Maeda but the Rangers turned it around in the second half and were 2-1 up themselves, before Kyogo rose to the occasion and equalised.
Unless something unexpected goes on to hinder Celtic’s progress this season, the road to the second consecutive title doesn’t appear to be bumpy. Still, the Hoops cannot afford to lose their their focus.
The 2-2 scoreline against the Rangers was far from a joyous occasion for the Celtic fans, especially after leading till the break, but it was a good result in the grand scheme of things. One player who did get criticised for his performance on the day was Josip Juranovic.
Celtic star slammed for display vs Rangers amid transfer links
Juranovic has been linked with a transfer away for a while now, with big clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and others all believed to be keeping tabs on the Croatian full-back.
Former Celtic star, Scott Mcdonald did not seem to be happy with his performance against the Rangers and let it be known on Twitter:
It is believed that the defender was not up to his full fitness before the match, which is the reason why he was not in the starting XI vs Rangers.
That could be why he did not seem up to the mark on the day, when he was brought on as a substitute in the first half itself, after Greg Taylor picked up an injury.
