After announcing the signings of Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston and Tomoki Iwata, even before the January transfer window has even opened, Celtic’s next target could be adding another striker to their ranks as soon as possible. It is no secret that the club need to bring in another option up top, if not two.
On one hand, the only two recognised strikers that they have in the squad right now are Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis. Their finishing has not been the greatest this season and has come under some criticism.
On the other hand, Giakoumakis is expected to be looking to leave the club when the January transfer window opens and has not started any of the recent games, adding further to the rumours.
As reported by Football Transfers, Celtic have sent scouts to watch Angers striker Amine Salama on multiple occasions and see him as a transfer option. However, it will be difficult to sign him in the middle of the season.

The rumours linking Celtic with a move for Salama are interesting indeed especially considering the fact that he is not really a striker who has caught the eye with his form.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Salama has scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 14 appearances for Angers this season.
Thus, if Celtic do indeed end up making a move for Salama, it would be very much based on his potential and not what he is producing on the pitch. But then, Ange Postecoglou has shown a great eye for talent till now.
It also must be mentioned in this regard though that Angers are at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table and are the joint-lowest scorers in the French league. The amount of chances that Salama receives there would be very different to what he could enjoy at Celtic.
