Celtic continue to be linked with one player after the other and have been more busy going into the January transfer window than most fans could have expected. The club have already brought in Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston and Tomoki Iwata. And it looks like more additions are expected to be made next month.

The addition of Iwata does provide another option in defensive midfield, an area that has emerged as a problem for Celtic in recent times. The likes of Oliver Abildgaard and Yosuke Ideguchi have failed to make their mark, and could be on their way out soon.

On the other hand, could Celtic sign another defensive midfielder after Iwata. It looks like the club do have their eyes on a Switzerland international.

As reported by Sky SportArdon Jashari will leave the Swiss Super League. The contenders for his signature currently are RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Napoli, Leeds United and Celtic. FC Luzern are expected to look for a transfer fee in the region of €6 million and €7 million.

Celtic are after highly rated Swiss international

Thus, it is safe to say that some of the most exciting teams in Europe are after the signature of Jashari.

The likes of RB Leipzig and Napoli even have incredible reputations when it comes to developing youngsters. Thus, it is safe to say that Celtic would have a tough time convincing Jashari to move to Glasgow, even if they ended up making a serious push to sign him from FC Luzern.

It is not hard to see why there is so much interest in the Swiss youngster. At 20 years of age, he is already captaining FC Luzern and was a part of the Switzerland national team’s World Cup squad as well.

Let’s see what the future holds for Jashari but a move to Celtic does not seem very likely. Never say never though.
