Celtic have continued to strengthen their squad, even before the January transfer window has opened. The club have brought in Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnston already, while the signing of Tomoki Iwata of Yokohama F. Marinos seems to be inching closer as well. And the Hoops are believed to be the favourites in the race to sign South Korean sensation, Cho Gue-sung, too.

On the other hand though, there are some fears around the futures of a couple of key Celtic players. And in the case of Josip Juranovic, it is very possible that he could be headed out in January.

Of course, a regular starter leaving in the middle of the season is never good news, especially when the club still have three titles to compete for. But after his performances at the World Cup, some of the biggest clubs in Europe are believed to be after the signature of Juranovic.

And as tweeted out by Sky Sports News, Chelsea are one of a number of clubs looking at the Celtic star and the Blues have held internal talks to assess right-back options following Reece James’ injury.

Chelsea returned to action against Bournemouth and when the two sides met each other, James ended up suffering another injury. He was only returning from a previous one in this game.

James is without doubt one of the best right-backs in the world when on song, but he seems to be pretty injury-prone as well. As a result, Chelsea will surely be looking to add cover in that area of the pitch in January and it is not hard to see why they might be interested in an in-form Juranovic.

Let’s see what the future holds but if Chelsea do make a serious push to sign Juranovic, then Celtic might have a tough time keeping him at Parkhead beyond January.
