Celtic have a brilliant crop of talent at this point of time and that is proven by their nine-point lead at the top of the Premiership table. One thing that Ange Postecoglou has stressed on since his arrival as manager is the importance of playing attractive and attacking football. Thus, it should come as no surprise that the Hoops are the highest scoring team in the league, by far.

Celtic have scored 57 goals in 18 league games this season. That is 16 more than the Rangers. And if the Hoops can keep this up, then they will outdo themselves from last season quite easily.

One also has to remember though that a lot of questions have been raised about Celtic’s finishing this season and one can only wonder how many goals they would have scored, if they were taking their chances more regularly.

Who is Celtic’s most valuable player on the ball though? Well, it is someone that not many fans would have expected: Liel Abada.

As reported by The Herald, updated data from leading statistics company StatsBomb, shows that Abada is the best-performing player in the league in terms of ‘On-Ball Value’. OBV is a possession value model that objectively and quantitatively measures the value of each event on the pitch.

While Abada has topped the charts, James Tavernier of the Rangers comes in at second while Jota is at third. Josip Juranovic and Anthony Ralston also feature on the list, at seventh and eighth respectively.

It is safe to say that Abada has been grabbing a lot of headlines recently. Whether it be with his great performances on pitch, or the fact that clubs from the Premier League are believed to be keeping an eye on his development at Celtic Park.
