Celtic managed to get a 2-1 win over Livingston in order to keep their 9-point lead at the Premiership in tact. A goal from Liel Abada was chopped off after a VAR check as well, leading to a nervy finish to the game but ultimately, Ange Postecoglou’s side had enough in the tank to get past the finish line. At the same time though, it is clear that there are certain areas that they need to improve in.

One has to be finishing games off. Let’s take this one for example. The Hoops had 23 shots and 10 on target, but only scored twice, with even one of those being an own goal. In the previous match, they had 33 shots and 10 on target, but needed a 87th minute strike from Callum McGregor to save them.

They are simply not being clinical enough. And that has been the case throughout the course of the season.

Yes, an extra-time goal to seal all three points does make for an amazing moment but they should not be the norm. Yet, the Hoops have had to rely on their incredible ability to find a way out way too often this season.

Celtic win but have had one glaring problem throughout this season

Celtic have won their past four league games by a margin of one goal. And while one should never complain about a win, the Hoops should be getting more comfortable ones.

One would hope that things improve over the course of the season and the signing of another striker in the January transfer window might help.

Let’s see what the future holds. But the fact of the matter is that despite some of their ‘struggles’ this season, Celtic still remain 9 points clear at the top of the table. And hopefully that will continue to be the case.
