Michael Beale started off his Rangers managerial career with a 3-2 win over Hibernian and must have been hoping for Celtic to drop points so that his side could cut into the gap a bit. That was not to happen though. The Hoops left it late but they found a way by the end, as they have done so often this season, with a strike from Callum McGregor sealing the three points and the 1-0 win.
Thus, Celtic remain 9 points clear at the top of the table. And while Beale’s first game in charge of the Rangers might have been a win, it raised some questions as well, as they did not looking convincing by any stretch of the imagination.
The Ibrox side surely be hoping that a new manager will help get closer to Celtic in the title race and it remains to be seen how thing play out in that regard.
Beale caused some controversy recently though by referring to Celtic not by name but as the ‘other team’. And he has decided to clarify his comments since then. As Derek Clark tweeted out:
Michael Beale on those upset at him saying ‘other team’: “I’m new back into the country, I didn’t get where I am by being disrespectful. That bit the other day, I don’t like that because it’s not what I am.”

Beale clarifies controversial Celtic comment
At the end of the day though, it does not matter to Celtic or their fans, what Beale says in his press conferences or interviews.
The Hoops are nine points clear at the top of the table at the moment and as long as they are able to avoid a complete collapse in the second half of the season, they should retain their Premiership title this time around. At the same time though, there are three Glasgow Derbies left in the campaign and it would be a mistake to rest on their laurels.
Hopefully, the Hoops will continue to put in the hard work, like they have till now, and the results should take care of themselves.
