Jose Mourinho wants Celtic player to join AS Roma
Celtic have a number of players in their squad who have impressed in recent times and caught the eye of clubs across Europe. Teams like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and several other top teams are rumoured to be keeping an eye on one or more of the Hoops’ players.
Now, it looks like AS Roma, currently managed by the legendary Jose Mourinho, have joined the race as well and the player that they want to sign is Josip Juranovic.
Juranovic has been a star performer for Celtic since arriving in the summer of 2021 from Legia Warsaw and he has performed brilliantly at the World Cup for Croatia as well. He was the starter for them and arguably the best right-back in the tournament. Quite an achievement to say the least.
And as reported by The Scottish Sun, Jose Mourinho is now eyeing Juranovic as a potential replacement for Rick Karsdorp at AS Roma.
Mourinho wants to sign Celtic player for AS Roma
Interestingly, Juranovic moving to a club like AS Roma might make a lot of sense, considering what the recent rumours have said.
There have been suggestions that Juranovic prefers a move to Italy and AS Roma are in need of a right-back at the moment, and a spot in the starting XI could be wide open for him to take up.
On top of that, Mourinho is one of the best coaches in history when it comes to helping develop defenders. Thus, it could be a good fit for Juranovic in that respect as well.
Of course, if AS Roma want to sign Juranovic, then they will have to pay a big transfer fee for him as rumours have claimed that Celtic will be expecting at least £17 million for the Croatian international’s signature.
