Going into the game vs Aberdeen, Celtic fans had expected to see the name of Sead Haksabanovic in the starting XI. The Montenegro international had been the Player of the Month in November and after a slow start to life at Parkhead, has very much become an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad. Thus, it was a major surprise to see that he was not in the squad.

Naturally, it sparked fears that Haksabanovic had been injured leading up to the match. And Ange Postecoglou did confirm that the summer signing had picked up a knock in training, which ruled him out of the game against Aberdeen.

Naturally, Celtic fans were left worried about the nature of the injury and how long it would take for Haksabanovic to recover. There is some great news regarding that.

As reported by Football Scotland, it is understood that Haksabanovic should be available for the midweek visit of Livingston.

It is clear that Haksabanovic has become an important part of this team already. The other signings from the summer might be yet to make much of an impact, but the Montenegro international is certainly making his presence felt.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Haksabanovic has scored 3 goals and provided an assist in 17 appearances and 758 minutes of football this season for Celtic.

While those might not be eye-popping numbers, one has to take into account the fact that he has slowly gotten up to match speed since arriving at Celtic and did not have much of a pre-season. A good portion of those appearance have come off the bench.

Haksabanovic’s overall performances have been very impressive though and he is starting to make a difference in the final third as well. One can only hope that he picks up in the second half of the season, where he left off.
