Celtic have quite the squad at the moment. Not only do they have players who are helping the team win now, but the fact that a number of them are young or in their prime means that there is the potential that they could exit Parkhead in the future in lieu of massive transfer fees. We are already seeing Josip Juranovic being linked with some of the biggest teams in Europe.
Following his strong World Cup campaign, the Hoops should not have a tough time commanding a transfer higher than £15 million in order to part ways with Juranovic, either in January or next summer.
There is another player though, who could fetch Celtic a major transfer fee in the future and that is Matt O’Riley, who has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund.
Taking all the rumours into account though, it looks like Newcastle United are the ones who are most interested in him. And as reported by Football Insider, Tam McManus said:
"“I do think he has the potential to be a Premier League player.“He’s already a top player. I really, really like him. Celtic got him for a steal, it was something like £1.5million if I remember correctly.“It was a steal and he is still only 22 years old. He has so much potential and he’s already a star for Celtic. He has a great left foot and he is getting better all the time.“I think if he has another good season next year then maybe someone in the Premier League will have a sniff at him.“It could be Newcastle. There have been plenty of stories about them watching him and they are always mentioned whenever his future comes up, we know they’re interested.“Is he good enough to get into that team now, I’m not sure. But he has huge potential and he’s only 22. So who knows where he will be in a few years?“It’s just great business from Celtic to sign players like that for those prices, for buttons. Then you have big clubs like Newcastle in there looking to sign him.“You are looking at £10million at least, that’s a huge profit.”"
Celtic youngster tipped to make big money move to Newcastle United in the future
Before joining Celtic, O’Riley was playing in the English League One for MK Dons. Naturally, when the Hoops made their move in January, there were question marks over whether he was good enough for the Scottish Premiership.
It is safe to say that it did not take O’Riley much time to prove the doubters wrong and he has already established himself as a Celtic starter and one of the classiest midfielders in the Premiership.
Also, he is still just 22 years of age and being linked with some of the biggest clubs on the planet. Thus, when he does complete a Parkhead exit, the Hoops should be expecting a major transfer fee. Even £10 million sounds on the low end considering the potential of the Danish youth international.
