Most of the recent news surrounding Celtic has been about the potential exit of Josip Juranovic in January, after he has enjoyed a great World Cup campaign with Croatia. Giorgos Giakoumakis could potentially end up departing Parkhead in the near future as well. But on the other hand, there are players who could be set to arrive.
Celtic have already added Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnston to their ranks, weeks before the January transfer window has even opened. And while they cannot play for the club before next month, they are free to train with their new teammates.
On the other hand, it looks like the club have their eyes on other potential signings as well and one player that they have been linked with for quite some time now, since back when Neil Lennon was the manager of the Hoops, is Mohamed Magdy, also known as Afsha.
And as reported by Sada El-Balad, Celtic’s interest in Afsha ‘looks to be real’. There are several other clubs in the race to sign him as well though like Galatasaray, Besiktas and Sivasspor.
Celtic’s rumoured interest in player looks to be real
Considering the amount of interest that there seems to be in the signature of Afsha, it does look like he is quite the player and could prove to be a solid addition for Celtic.
At the same time though, it is believed that Al Ahly would look for a transfer fee around €5 million in order to part ways with their star man and that will definitely be a steep figure to shell out for the Hoops especially considering the fact that he plays in a position where they do not really need to bring anyone in immediately.
Still it remains to be seen what the future holds and whether Celtic end up making a move to sign Afsha or not.
