Celtic have quite a deep squad at the moment and there are some players who are not getting the playing time that they might feel that they deserve. At the same time though, it is impossible for Ange Postecoglou to play everyone and there are some players who just do not seem to be in the manager’s plans and will have to depart Parkhead sooner or later.

One such player appears to be Scott Robertson, who was very highly rated while coming through the Celtic youth and developmental ranks, but has never been able to nail down a spot in the team at the senior level. And now, his exit seems near.

As reported by the Daily Record, Robertson was informed by Postecoglou that he has no future at the club and the youngster is expected to move on next month.

That might be the best step for all parties involved as well, as Robertson has not been able to play a single minute of football this season till now.

There is no doubt that a lot of fans would have wanted to see Robertson make it at Celtic Park, considering that he has come through the youth ranks of the club.

At the same time though, with how stacked the squad is at the moment, there is very little scope for him to get any significant playing time. He has had a few loan spells away from the club but they have not been enough to get him first-team status at Parkhead.

Robertson is 21 years of age as well and he needs to be getting regular minutes right now in order to develop in the senior game. And all things considered, it might be best for him to leave and try to make his mark elsewhere.
